Made for India Design 2022, this project aims to craft a meaningful memento that embodies our design values. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, our memento honors recycling and repurposing by using on-site waste materials. The goal was to create a sustainable keepsake, not a lavish collectible, serving as both a cherished item and a model of thoughtful design.

The idea was to make a rounded cube which had a unique joinery at each edge. This would be an interesting and interactive memento which would also educate the user about woodworking through joineries.
Later, the curves with reduced quite a bit for ease of production given the fact that we were on a strict timeline.
A new concept was created which was a cube with minimal fillets. This new concept also included an acrylic cube inscribed with text inside which fit perfectly. Adding this last piece made the memento whole.
This time the joineries that were made had a much better finish and were fitting firmly.
Simple form looked and felt much better and the joinery was much easier to interact with. All the pieces were given a finish and a gradient was also given to the cube.
The acrylic cube was was printed with six quotes selected by six individuals working at the Studio.
